Mill Neck Manor Apple Fest
Let the fall festivities begin!! Fall is one of my favorite seasons and I am ecstatic to kick off the season with the Mill Neck Manor Apple Fest. I had the most incredible time! I cannot believe this was the first time I have ever attended, but it will undoubtedly be a new tradition.
Mill Neck Manor is a school for the Deaf with a mission of serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and adults. The grounds are spectacular, but not nearly as spectacular as the warm individuals we were able to spend time with today. My favorite part of the day was the ASL class for beginners with the amazing Matt. My new favorite thing to sign is, of course, "I'm adopting a baby!"
The hilarious magic show by magician Steve Weiner was another highlight. Stay tuned for my next post on that.
No rain could keep us away! We tossed up our hoods and weaved our way through the vendors. We played some carnival games and life size connect four. We did a little photo shoot in the pumpkin patch and made our way to the highlight of the fest, the apples. I indulged in the best apple cider I have ever had, we shared our favorite fried pickles, and came home with the most delicious and gigantic snapdragon apples. Have you ever tried apple butter? We brought some home and already can't wait for next year to get some more. Of course I needed the "Jurassic Sharp Cheddar" cheese.
Counting down the days until next years Apple Fest, but in the meantime, looking forward to other events and ways to support the Mill Neck school!
